Reactor
are a melodic guitar driven band with an
'Indian' edge. Fronted by the voices of
London brothers Ewan and David O'Brien,
backed up by the solid 'Ev & Kev'
groove section, they have a rich sound which
is both musical and powerful, with hints
of East and West, past and future.
The
band first met and played together in a
West London squat, where a dodgy courier
company provided cover for the activities
of bands, bikers and other low life types.
This local police hot-spot was also the
venue for the band's first gig, powered
by electricity stolen from a street lamp.
"We
rock." (Dio)
The
most striking thing about hearing Reactor
for the first time is the wide range of
musical flavours that they use to express
their ideas. Equally at home with styles
as diverse as delta blues, trippy techno,
indian classical, and machine-gun metal,
their playing is bold and the sound is rich
and unique. With Reactor, you can never
be sure what's coming next...
"...writing
about music is like dancing about architecture."
(Zappa)
